In today’s era Social Networking Sites have become a popular communication and information sharing tools among the student community. The present study is to find out how the post graduate students of Dibrugarh University use social networking sites for their academic work purpose. A structured questionnaire was designed and personally distributed among 150 respondents. Most of them are using these sites for their academic purposes. YouTube, Facebook, Research gate and Academia.edu are the most preferred social networking sites for research purposes. Finally, a majority of respondents said using SNSs may be a waste of time. Majority of the respondents faced poor internet connection, Privacy concern and data security are the most undesirable difficulties that students face in Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh.

GST and Small Businessmen of Assam: An Overview on Inconveniences

The Goods and Service Tax (GST) was introduced in India on 1st July, 2017 with the objective to simplify the process taxation in the country. It was expected that the economic activities would boosted with the implementation of GST. But in reality it was not happened. The small businessmen were faced a lot of inconveniences after the GST regime. Since, Assam belong to special category state so the threshold limit is less which means more small businessmen came under the purview of GST. This paper tries to bring out the inconveniences caused to small businessmen of Assam due to GST.

Poetic Craft in Jayanta Mahapatra’s Poetry

Jayanta Mahapatra is one of the great Indian English poets and his treatment of themes in his poetry as well as his poetic style makes him a prominent figure. His poetic style is lucid and precise. Use of imagery and symbols is another aspect of Mahapatra’s craftsmanship and his poetic style is highly symbolical and imagistic. His use of figure of speech such as similes and metaphors in his
poetry make them rich and prominent. The similes and metaphors are particularly plentiful, besides being very appropriate and fully serving the purpose which, of course, is either to clarify or to emphasise an idea. This research paper is an attempt to bring out Mahapatra’s poetic style used in some of his famous poems.

in our country. Although Islamic law provides all facilities to women to acquire knowledge, yet there are several social and religious reasons for their backwardness. Though they have set up many educational institutions at all levels, in spite of that they are educationally backward. Through this paper an attempt has been made to highlight the different problems they faced
in acquiring higher education with some remedial measures to overcome the difficulties.
